Ryobi Charger User Guide Charging a battery pack with the Ryobi RC18150 Charger. 1. Connect the charger to the power supply. 2. Place the battery pack in the charger aligning raised rib on the battery pack with the groove in the charger. 3. Press down on the battery pack to be sure contacts on the battery pack engage properly with contacts in the charger. NOTE: After charging is complete, the green LED will remain on until the battery pack is removed from the charger or charger is disconnected from the power supply. 4. The battery pack will become slightly warm to the touch while charging. This is normal and does not indicate a problem. 5. Do not place the charger and battery pack in an area of extreme heat or cold. They will work best at normal room temperature. NOTE: The charger and battery pack should be placed in a location where the temperature is more than 10°C but less than 38°C. When batteries become fully charged, unplug the charger from the power supply and remove the battery pack. Charging a Hot Battery Pack When using a tool continuously, the batteries in the battery pack will become hot. You should let a hot battery pack cool down for approximately 30 minutes before attempting to recharge. Battery Charging Sequence Both lights OFF Charger Off. Charger is disconnected from mains supply.  Red Light ON Charger ON (connected to mains) no battery fitted. NOTE: If you have placed a battery pack in the charger, make sure it is fitted the correct way around and pressed down firmly.  Red Light Flashing Battery pack is either too hot, too cold or deeply discharged. This is NOT a fault condition. Wait for the charger to evaluate the battery condition. Once the battery pack reaches correct temperature or completes a precharge cycle the charger will begin charging mode. NOTE: Battery packs can become too hot from continuous usage. You should let a hot battery pack cool down for approximately 30 minutes before attempting to recharge.  Red light ON, green light flashing Battery is charging.  Green light ON Charging complete. Remove battery pack ready for use.  Red and green lights both flashing Error. Either the battery pack or charger is defective. Try to repeat the conditions a second time by removing and refitting the battery. If the error persists, try charging a different battery. If a different battery charges normally, dispose of the defective battery pack. If a different battery also indicates an error, the charger may be defective. Waste electrical products should not be disposed of with household waste. Please recycle where facilities exist. Check with your local authority or retailer for recycling advice. |
